dated February 24, 1957: Elections in Kashmir

The Sadar-i-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir has called upon the people of 64 of the 71 constituencies in the State to elect members to the Legislative Assembly under the new Constitution. In the remaining seven constituencies, which are snowbound, elections will be held later. The Election Commissioner of the State has fixed March 25 the date for polling in Jammu and March 30 for Kashmir Valley.
