Belgaum: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will deliver the sixth annual convocation address of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) at 11 a.m. on the Jnana Sangam campus here on Sunday. Governor T.N. Chaturvedi will preside over the convocation and confer degrees to graduating candidates. Also, three Ph.D and M.Sc (Engineering) will be awarded. The three candidates to get these degrees Sunil Kumar N. Kulkarni, M. Ramachandra and K.V. Mahendra are from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore. According to Vice-Chancellor K. Balaveera Reddy here on Friday, honorary degrees of Doctor of Science (D.Sc) will be conferred on V.S. Arunachalam, former Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister and N. Seshagiri, Emeritus Scientist and former Director General of NIC. VTU gold medals and endowment gold medals will be presented to distinguished rank holders. The VTU has awarded ranks to 328 candidates who have passed in the academic year 2005-06.
