KURNOOL: Intermediate Board is facing shortage of invigilators to conduct its examinations in Kurnool district. As against a requirement of 1,300 to conduct the examination at 74 centres, the Board could deploy only 350 lecturers while the rest are to be drafted from the teachers' community. A total of 55,543 students will take the examination at the centres between March 5 and 24. Of the 74 centres, 15 centres were identified as problematic at Pathikonda, Allagadda, Bethamcharla, Koilkuntla, Yemmiganur, Kosigi, Nandikotkur, Kurnool, Aluru, Gudur and Nandyal. Collector M. Dana Kishore who reviewed the arrangements at a meeting of officials here on Friday asked the Board officials to deploy three sitting squads at problematic centres. Mr. Kishore also asked the Board officials to deploy only those teachers suggested by the District Education Officer (DEO) for the work.
SSC exam
He said many of the teachers preferred outdoor work and volunteered for invigilation work. But the original schoolwork was affected on the eve of examinations. Meanwhile, SSC examination will be held at 204 centres for 50,522 students between March 21 and April 7. Question papers will be stocked at 80 points in the district.
