Tata Coffee to set up production unit in Uganda

BANGALORE: Tata Coffee has signed an agreement with Uganda to establish a 3,600 tonne coffee production unit there investing Rs. 70 crore and has plans to jointly take up promoting its Crane instant coffee in China. The Managing Director of Tata Coffee, M. H. Asraff, said he would be visiting Uganda on February 27 to finalise the land required for the plant and equipment for the unit. The company would also be establishing a 2,500 tonne export oriented unit at Theni in Tamil Nadu.
