New garden opened in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, S.F. Rodrigues, on Friday inaugurated the Poinsettia and Ixora Garden in Sector 11 here as part of the annual Rose Festival.

Developed over an area of about 6.25 acres, the garden has 1,000 plants of Poinsettia and 600 plants of Ixora,

The Green Park Association of Sector 11 has joined hands with the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation in maintaining the infrastructure facilities.

Support pledged

Gen Rodrigues said that the Chandigarh Administration would extend all infrastructure support in initiating such projects with the cooperation of the people.

Mayor Harjinder Kaur and Municipal Commissioner P.S. Aujla were among those present.
