Man murdered by unidentified gang in Bellary

He suffered injuries on the face and other part of the body

BELLARY: Nageshwar Reddy was murdered allegedly by an unidentified three-member gang near Parvati Nagar first cross here on Friday.

Amrit Paul, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu that the gang allegedly attacked the victim with sharp weapons and fled the scene. He allegedly suffered injuries on the face and other parts of the body and was shifted to Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences hospital but in vain.

The reasons for the attack are yet to be ascertained. Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case.

Attack in October

Reddy is the lone survivor of the Gavisiddappa family, which was allegedly attacked by a gang of four in October last. Gavisiddappa and two women were allegedly murdered in the attack.

A gang led by one Subash, allegedly attacked him and the members of his family in their residence. Gavisiddappa succumbed to his injuries two days later. All four persons, including Subash, were arrested.
