SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh government on Friday informed the Assembly that the total crop loss in the horticulture and farm sector due to drought and excessive rains in the current season has been estimated at Rs 450 crore. Total crop loss assessed was Rs 450 crore while it is Rs 174 crore for horticulture items alone in the current season, Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan said, while replying to a starred question of Ravinder Singh (BJP). ``The State Govt. sought Rs 14 crore as immediate relief from the Centre to meet the loss in horticulture, of which Rs two crore has come,'' he said, adding the amount has been released to the affected. - PTI
