PDSU activists lathicharged

HYDERABAD: The city police on Friday resorted to a lathicharge against activists of the Progressive Democratic Students' Union (PDSU) when they were protesting in front of Ministers' quarters in Banjara Hills on Friday.

The police arrested 60 persons, including 17 women, on the charge of trespass. They were later released on bail. The activists were demanding that the Government refrain from introducing a Bill during the ongoing Assembly session allowing foreign and private universities in the State.
