Seven held on kidnap charge

The Cyberabad police on Friday took seven persons into custody for allegedly kidnapping a real estate commission agent Rajasekhara Reddy from his house at Nadergul on Friday. Accused persons led by Hamsaraju forcibly entered the house of Mr. Reddy and kidnapped him. However, Mr. Reddy's relatives chased and caught them. His relatives later assaulted the kidnappers, leading to bleeding injuries to them. They were being treated in a hospital at Vanasthalipuram, the police said.

Hoax bomb threat to theatres

A call made by an anonymous person stating that a bomb was planted in two theatres at Jeedimetla on Friday turned out to be a hoax. Jeedimetla Inspector B. Sreenivas Reddy received the call on his mobile at 6.30 p.m. After thorough searches, the police confirmed that it was a hoax call.

Woman hangs self

A 20-year-old woman J. Swetha hanged herself to death at her house at Hayathnagar on Friday. The police said Swetha ended her life as her parents were planning to perform her marriage against her wishes.

Pastor killed

A pastor Paul Kumar (25) was killed and three others were injured after an autorickshaw trolley in which they were travelling in overturned at Sriramnagar in Jubilee Hills on Thursday. The accident occurred when auto driver lost control while negotiating a curve.
