Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday directed the Delhi police to probe the role of a former station house officer (SHO) and additional SHO of the Sabzi Mandi police station here in allegedly fabricating papers to implicate a Rajouri Garden businessman in a rape case in West Delhi in August 2000.

A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Manmohan Sarin and Justice S. L. Bhayana passed the direction on a petition by the victim Sushil Gulati, who was incarcerated for about two month before he was granted bail.

Later, the police had discharged him by filing a closure report in the trial court.

The Bench directed the Crime Branch of the Delhi police to file a probe report by March 8.In the petition, Mr. Gulati sought transfer of investigation of the case to the CBI.
