Three arrested for alleged cheating

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested at Mehrauli here for allegedly cheating banks and courier companies of several lakh of rupees by using Gold Credit Cards.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused, Jiya Faisal, Vishal Aggarwal and Ajay Java, were arrested from their hideout at Lado Sarai on Thursday. A colour television, six Gold Credit Cards and gold worth Rs. 5 lakhs have been seized from their possession, the police said.

Proclaimed offender arrested

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old proclaimed offender, who was declared dead by his parents, has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police.

Acting on a tip off, Arun Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bihar, was arrested at Dhaula Kuan bus stand on Monday. Three persons, including a woman, were convicted for his abduction and murder and awarded 10 years' rigorous imprisonment.

The Bihar police team has reached Delhi to take his custody, the police said.

Two held for stealing transformer

NEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly stealing a power distribution transformer from the Keshavpuram area that falls under the power distribution company NDPL's network.

The accused, Sunder Singh and Ram Chander, were produced in a court here on Thursday that remanded them to 14-day police custody. The police caught them when they were allegedly trying to flee with the stolen transformer.
