95 villages brought under yojana

Rs. 89.30-crore action plan ready for their development

Belgaum: The State Government has selected 95 villages in the district for providing basic amenities under the Suvarna Grama Yojana.

Official sources said here on Saturday that the Government had prepared a Rs. 89.30-crore action plan to implement the yojana in the selected villages.

Under the scheme, importance would be given to bringing in a qualitative improvement in the village environment and encourage land-based activities.

Attention would be given to human resource development while implementing programmes related to education, health services, development of children, and creating employment opportunities for the youth in the non-farm sector. Self-help groups would be involved in a big way to create awareness on various socio-economic issues.

Selected villages

The villages selected are Telsang, Kottalgi, Kirangi, Sankunatti, Katageri, Kudagnur, Jugal, Mangawati, Shirguppi and Naguru P.K. in Athani taluk. Ambadgatti, Sutgatti, Turmuri, Mannur, Sangolli, Budrkatti, Tigdolli, Hirenandihalli, Mohare and Udakeri in Bailhongal taluk.

Balekundri K.H., Honnihal, Modaga, Karadiguddi, K.K. Koppa, Tarihal, Basarikatti, Mutnal and Desur in Belgaum taluk. Shendur, Yarnal, Appachiwadi, Navilehal, Budihal, Kabbur, Janawad, Malikwad, Yadurwad, Nagral, Umrani, Chinchani, Kargaon, Nayinglaj, Toranahalli and Ankli in Chikodi taluk.

Makkalageri, Shinglapur, Khangaon, Ankalgi, Hallur, Durdundi, Kulgodu and Koujalgi in Gokak taluk. Hosur, Yarnal, Shirgaon, Ghodagere, Kanagal, Borgal, Mudihalli, Doddaramewadi, Badakundri, Hitti and Vantamuri in Hukkeri taluk. Bidi, Halasi, Jamboti, Garalgunji, Bailur, Hebbal, Chikkamunavalli and Mangyankoppa in Khanapur taluk.

Naslapur, Nipanal, Beradi, Hadigund, Koligudda and Yallaratti in Raibag taluk. Sureban, Mudakavi, K. Chandargi, Mudenur, Narsapur, Hanumsagar, Chipallgatti and Kittur in Ramdurg taluk.

Shivapur, Inamhongal, Sattigeri, Hanchinal, Huli, Sutgatti, Karkumbi and Haroguppa in Saundatti taluk.
