KORAPUT: Bijay Kumar Jena, NALCO employee, has added strength to the library of his dreams when he purchased a few more books at the book exhibition at Damanjodi on Saturday. He has a dream to have a big library in his native village Sundarpur in Jajpur district after his retirement and as a part of this he has already purchased books worth Rs. 2 Lakhs. Speaking to The Hindu he said e had been purchasing books for his dream library from his student career and after getting job in NALCO he was saving part of his income for the purpose. He said he had been purchasing more than 100 books, mostly Oriya books, every year. He has a service of more than 25 years of service and a good collection of books could be made by that time. His library would be torch-bearer to spread love for Oriya language among common mass, he said. The traditional practice of Bhagavat Tungi in the villages and public library movement in the State were the strength of Oriya's life and would be back again some day, he hoped. Mr. Jena is a member of Barsha Sahitya Sansad, a local literary organisation, which was also leading a movement in the region to increase Oriya readership.
