BHUBANESWAR: Close on the heels of the looting of Rs. 20 lakhs in Bhadrak town on Friday, three unidentified youths looted Rs. 8 lakhs from two businessmen at Banai town in Sundargarh district on Saturday. The youths, who came on a motorcycle, snatched away the cash from the businessmen when they came out of a bank. The robbers managed to flee the spot.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Bhadrak incident increased to two with the Central Bank security guard Diwakar Sahu breathing his last on the operation table at Shriram Chandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Three others, including a 10-year-old girl, are undergoing treatment at the hospital. An employee of the Central Bank of India was killed and five persons were injured when six robbers opened fire at the bank staff outside the Life Corporation of India at Banta square of Bhadrak town and looted the money. Bhadrak police have detained two persons in connection with the case. The accusedwere still at large. Police teams were being sent to West Bengal and Bihar to look for the assailants.
