Woman dies after surgery

Pratapgarh: A case of culpable homicide was registered on Saturday against two doctors of a nursing home here after a woman whom they operated upon died, police sources said.

The woman died when the doctors were trying to rush her to an Allahabad nursing home after her condition worsened following an operation conducted by them at their nursing home in the Vaghrai police station area on Friday, the sources said.

Both the doctors escaped leaving the women's body in the Allahabad nursing home, they said.

The husband of the deceased got an FIR registered in this connection, the sources said, adding that efforts were on to trace the two doctors. - PTI

Judge dies in road accident

Jaipur: A judicial magistrate was killed when the car in which she was travelling along with her fiance overturned near Teediyasar in Rajasthan's Churu district on Saturday, police said.

Dimple Agarwal (27), posted at Rajgarh's Munsif magistrate court, died on the spot while Anek Goyal, who was driving, received injuries.

The couple was due to get married on March 6. Teediyasar is nearly 260 km from here. - PTI

Policeman shot dead

Muzaffarnagar: A policeman was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside the jail premises here on Saturday.

``Some miscreants came in a car and shot head constable Devdutt Sharma outside the district jail this evening. He died on the spot,'' police said. The incident took place when the constable was standing at a shop near the gate of the jail to recharge his mobile phone, they said. Police suspect old enmity behind the killing. - PTI

Woman doctor killed in accident

Jalandhar: A woman doctor was killed when she was run over by a car near Guru Gobind Singh Avenue here on Saturday, police said.

Navneet Kaur was going to Oberoi Hospital, where she was working, when a Bolero car rammed into her as she was about to board a bus.

The body has been sent to the civil hospital for post mortem. - PTI
