Notice served on Ramoji Rao

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has served a legal notice on Eenadu Editor Ramoji Rao stating that a news item published in his newspaper on Saturday relating to Supreme Court proceedings was inaccurate and misleading.

Advocate C. Sindhu Kumari, who issued the notice on behalf of the Chief Minister, said the news item under the headline "Supreme Court notice to State Government, YS" would give an impression that the notice in the Special Leave Petition was issued to Dr. Reddy in his individual capacity.

The notice further stated that appropriate legal action would be initiated if the newspaper failed to carry a correction.

Ms. Kumari said the court ordered notice in the SLP confining it to the State Government alone. "It did not state that the notice to my client is being issued in his individual capacity," she clarified.
