We will take it up with Argentina, says Pranab

Berhampore (West Bengal): India would take up with Argentina the extradition of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said here on Saturday.

"We will take steps for the extradition of Quattrocchi by holding talks with the Argentina Government since we have no extradition treaty with Buenos Aires," Mr. Mukherjee said.

Asked about Mr. Quattrocchi's extradition to India after his detention in Argentina, he said New Delhi would follow established rules in the matter.

"We will follow the set government rules and it is the main responsibility of the CBI, which has been entrusted with it." — PTI
