Call for industry-institute synergy for achieving overall development

Staff Reporter

TIRUCHI: A coordinated effort by industries and higher educational institutions will go a long way in achieving overall development for both the sectors, the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, C. Thangamuthu, said here on Saturday.

He was speaking at the valediction of a two-day seminar on `information technology' organised by the university's Department of Computer Science.

Mr. Thangamuthu said that the information technology industries and academicians should work in tandem. The industries could depute their senior consultants to the information technology institutions periodically to deliver lectures.

The Registrar of the University, V. Radhakrishnan, offered felicitations.

The Head of the Department of Computer Science, Gopinath Ganapathy, spoke on the objective of the seminar.

The Circle Head, Reliance Communications, Suresh Srinivasan, and the Coordinator, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, N. Ramanujam, were among those who spoke.

In all, about two-hundred delegates participated in the seminar.
