M. Subramaniam is DMK candidate for Mayor

CHENNAI : Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi announced on Sunday that M. Subramaniam is the DMK candidate for the Chennai Corporation Council Mayor.

The former Mayor was among the 33 councillors elected unopposed to the Council following the resignation of 100 councillors of the DMK-led alliance.

These councillors, along with the 67 who won in the elections held last Sunday, would take their positions in the Council after a swearing-in ceremony on Monday.

The election for the Council Mayor will be held on Thursday.
