BANGALORE: Power supply was affected on Sunday in several areas of Bangalore city, including Cookes Town, Infantry Road, Ulsoor and Airport Road, due to a technical fault in a power station that triggered multiple problems. Power shutdown had been announced in these areas from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday for operationalising a new power station which links the HAL 1&2 66-kV lines. But when the task was about to be completed, a power station located on Pottery Road suffered a technical snag. This triggered a technical problem in the power supply network. This resulted in intermittent power supply in several areas. Several people called up The Hindu to express their dissatisfaction over the delay in resuming the power supply. They alleged that Bangalore Electricity Supply Company officials were not taking their calls, though they had been trying to find out when the power supply would resume. Several children too called up to say that the lack of power supply had affected their preparations for examination.
