CHENNAI: Teledata Informatics Ltd., engaged in providing enterprise-wide solutions for marine, education, telecom and utility sectors, is in the process of demerging its divisions into separate companies.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, K. Padmanabhan, Managing Director, said that as per the demerger scheme the company would be hiving off the marine division into Teledata Marine solutions Ltd while the technology based undertakings and activities will come under Teledata Technology Solutions Ltd.

For every two shares held in Teledata Informatics, the shareholders will get one share each in Teledata Marine Solutions and Teledata Technology Solutions, Mr. Padmanabhan said.

Teledata Informatics has recently invested $105 million for acquiring 51 per cent stake in Singapore headquartered eSys Technologies.

The Singapore company, headed by Vikas Goel, is engaged in the distribution of desktop hard disk drive and other technology products with its presence in 30 countries.

According to Mr. Vikas Goel, the $2 billion company has also diversified into PC manufacturing with four automated facilities in Singapore, Los Angeles, Dubai and New Delhi. Following the acquisition of a stake in it by Teledata, eSys Technologies has become a subsidiary of Teledata Informatics.

Mr. Padmanabhan said Teledata Informatics and its subsidiary eSys will be setting up a total business offshoring (TBO) unit in Chandigarh. The first phase of this facility, involving an investment of Rs. 250 crore, will have a workforce of 500 and through this TBO, customers will be offered a unique outsourcing proposition with a comprehensive set of services including global logistics and warehousing, transactional services, and online B2B and B2C operations.
