MOSCOW: Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal arrived here on Monday to win Russia's support for lifting Western sanctions against the Palestinian Government. "Our goal is to encourage the international community to start cooperation with the Palestinian Government and pressurise Israel to recognise the Palestinian state's right to exist," he told reporters on arrival from Damascus. "We value Russia's position toward lifting the blockade from which the Palestinian people suffer."
