Handicrafts expo from March 2

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation, in its silver jubilee year, will conduct National Handicrafts Expo from March 2 to 15 at People's Plaza, Necklace Road. About 200 artisans from different States will participate in the event to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. It will be open to public free from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There would be daily cultural programmes from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., P. Jeyaraj, Managing Director, stated at a press conference here on Monday. At the inaugural function eminent artisans - Sripati (gold leaf painting), Eshwarudu, Sivaprasada Reddy (UNESCO awardees), Gurappa Shetty (Kalamkari) and Chalapati Rao (leather puppetry) would be honoured by the Chief Minister.
