Bangalore: "A public-private partnership will help increase the client potential and turnover. It is unfortunate that such some mega events do not have the complete support from the Government," said J. Crasta, chairman of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Committee, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He was speaking at the valedictory of three mega events GAIL- PLASTASIA, ELASIA and BMTEX 2007, at Palace Grounds here on Monday. He said that since the three events were inter-related, an exhibitor in one of the three segments could be a customer to another. He also promised help to those who want to organise such mega events in future. V. Srikanth, Senior Deputy General Manager (Communications), BHEL, said that participating in such events helped companies identify and get in touch with potential customers. Cyril Pereira of Triune Exhibitors Private Limited said that it would be helpful if the Government supported such events in future. He urged the Government to set up a trade centre in the heart of the city and provide subsidy to the exhibitors. Speaking to presspersons later, he said that the four-day event had received business enquiries of over Rs. 400 crore. More than 26,000 business visitors came to the event. He also said that companies from all States and nine countries participated in the event.

Under BMTEX event, the first, second and third place was secured by Sick India, Lapp Master and Pepper Fuchs respectively.
