Tree houses a hit

Tree houses are one of the most sought after accommodations at home stays and resorts in Wayanad. Tree houses are like rooms built on a tree. It comprise a single room attached to a bathroom and is supported by thick bamboo poles and logs.

"Animals such as elephants do come near the tree houses. But these animals do not attack tourists because of the lanterns lit outside the tree house," says K.G. Rajesh, proprietor of a resort.

Tourists who love wildlife enjoy seeing the animals and hear their sounds at night, he says.
