BANGALORE: Hundreds of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists on Tuesday left for New Delhi to stage a demonstration at the national capital to protest against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal. Activists, led by vedike president T.A. Narayana Gowda, took out a procession from Dr. Rajkumar playground in Gandhinagar to the Yeshwanthapur railway station. Before boarding the Sampark Kranthi Express to New Delhi, the activists squatted on the tracks and staged a demonstration for sometime. The vedike activists are likely to camp in New Delhi for a few days and stage a series of protests to highlight the "injustice" meted out to Karnataka by the tribunal award
Demonstration
Members of the Akhila Karnataka Catholic Christians Kannada Association and Karnataka Kannada Dharma Gurugala Balaga staged a demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on Mahatma Gandhi Road. The religious leaders, sporting red and yellow Kannada "angavastra," recited prayers during the demonstration.
