Trend in recent polls will continue in the U.P. elections as well
Poll outcome reflected people's anger against the UPA
PATNA
: As the Punjab and Uttarakhand Assembly elections results trickled in, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the Janata Dal (U) was likely to ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Uttar Pradesh polls.
Greater interest
Reversing the party's earlier stand of a tie-up only with the Apna Dal, Mr. Kumar said party chief Sharad Yadav would hold talks with the BJP to forge an alliance. The BJP would be told of the importance of the Apna Dal in the greater interest of the combine.
Mr. Kumar said that he would also talk to the BJP's veteran leader Murli Manohar Joshi who is now in the State. He said the trend in the recent elections would continue and impact the Uttar Pradesh elections as well.
Mr. Kumar said the poll outcome reflected the people's anger against the UPA Government for failing to contain rising inflation and that it was high time Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took note of it.
