Teertha stuns Neena Reddy

HYDERABAD: Teertha Iska of Andhra Pradesh shocked the higher-rated ITF player Neena Reddy of Tamil Nadu 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 in the girls under-16 first round of the Lanco-JHIC National Series tennis tournament for boys and girls at Jubilee Hills International Centre here on Tuesday.

Teertha, who has shifted base from United States to pursue a tennis career, fought back remarkably well from a second set deficit after a fluent start. Once she got back the rhythm, the young talent was at her best in essaying some fine cross-court returns to upset the rival.
