THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram District Football Association on Tuesday mourned the death of State youth footballer Soni Das (17) who was drowned while bathing in the sea on Saturday. Soni Das was the captain of the State Youth football team that took part in the Subroto Trophy championship in 2005 and was also the member of Indian under-17 team. He had represented SBT under-19 team in the national youth league. He was a plus two student of MVHS, Arumanoor. At the condolence meeting held at the TDFA office, C.P. John, the TDFA president, said that Soni's death was big blow to Kerala football. TDFA vice-president Marshall and treasurer also spoke on the occasion.
