HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday informed the State Assembly that a five-member team of officers would visit Maharashtra to study the implementation of the SC and ST special component plan (SCP) and tribal sub plan (TSP) programmes. Dr. Reddy said the team would undertake the tour after conclusion of the budget session of the Assembly. He said the Government was keen on replicating the programmes here. He was responding to a notice of adjournment tabled by CPI (M) floor leader Nomula Narsimhaiah seeking constitution of a monitoring committee to review the SCP and TSP in the State. He said the State SC and ST Commission would be constituted latest by April 14, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
`Dalit baata'
To a suggestion that a separate `Dalit baata' be undertaken to create awareness among Dalits, Dr. Reddy said that he would undertake the next phase of `Prajapatham' interaction programme with the people in April wherein issues concerning Dalits would be raised.
