Pakistan sweeps veterans' series

NEW DELHI: Pakistan Veterans made a clean sweep of the three-match limited-over cricket series beating the host by 43 runs at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground here on Tuesday. Pakistan had won at Udaipur and Kozhikode.

Pakistan's batsmen scored almost at will for the better part of the innings and reached 283 for five in 40 overs. In reply, India never really looked in the hunt. Though opener Vivek Razdan scored a century, India fell short by 43 runs.

Ejaz Ahmed maintained his form in the series with an unbeaten 52-ball 64 including three sixes and four boundaries.

The scores: Pakistan 283 for five in 40 overs (Ejaz Ahmed 64 not out, Azam Khan 57, Amir Akbar 55, Mansoor Akhtar 40) beat India 240 for eight in 40 overs (Vivek Razdan 102, Sanjeev Sharma 33). — Special Correspondent
