Collection of taxes by March 15

Sangareddy: Medak district Collector B. Venkatesam has directed the panchayat secretaries and extension officers to complete collection of property taxes in all notified panchayats on or before March 15. According to a press release here, the Collector-reviewed collection of taxes, levies on cable TV and hoardings, status of computerisation of panchayat data and set targets of all notified panchayats. He wanted them to speed up and complete collection of the pending property taxes. Only Patancheru with 68 percent and Ramachndrapuram with 66 percent stood first in the collections. The Collector expressed concern over the panchayats, which have failed to collect at least 50 of the accumulated taxes. He wanted the officers to see that Internet is put to use in all the 23 selected villages to upgrade civic information. NIC officer Shanti Kumar also participated in the meeting.
