ADILABAD: An argument between Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) councillors of Mancherial Municipality over selection of Indiramma wards ended in pandemonium. The agitated councillors also damaged furniture. The TDP councillors alleged partiality in selection of wards for development under Indiramma scheme in Mancherial town. TDP floor leader Mahesh Goud alleged that only two wards represented by party were selected as Indiramma wards, out of the 32 in town. Many slum areas, which were represented by the TDP, were not given proper status, the party leaders alleged. This resulted in a war of words between the councillors of the two parties and everyone started throwing the furniture around. Chairman R. Krishna Rao presided over the meeting.
