HASSAN: Superintendent of Police Panduranga Rane said some clues had been obtained in the burglary case in which gold and cash were taken away. Mr. Rane said the burglars entered the house on Monday afternoon when Varamahalakshmi, wife of late Gyaralli Thammaiah, who was the secretary of SVM Education Society, was away from home. They entered by breaking open a window grill and took away Rs. 2.5 lakh in cash and Rs. 2.5 lakh worth of gold ornaments. It appeared to be the work of professionals, he said. Mr. Rane said a special team had been formed to investigate the case. A case has been registered at the Pension Mohalla Police Station.
