Journalists to court arrest

HASSAN: Journalists from Hassan, who met at Patrika Bhavan here on Tuesday, have decided to court arrest on Thursday in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in protest against what has been termed false cases filed against them by the police.

Cases were filed against some journalists and advocates following an incident on the court premises last week in which the journalists alleged that they had been beaten up by some advocates.

The meeting was presided over by Shivanand Tagadur, president, Hassan District Working Journalists Union.

Journalists from all over the district would participate in the dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office, said Mr. Tagadur.
