Minister's assurance on Haryana High Court

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Union Law and Justice Minister Hans Raj Bhardwaj on Tuesday assured Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda that the process was underway to set up a separate High Court for Haryana.

Mr. Bhardwaj gave this assurance at a function in Rohtak where the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Vijender Jain, laid the foundation stones for the buildings of a Bar complex, judicial record room and judicial "maalkhana".

Mr. Justice Jain appreciated that there was no interference by the State Government in recruitment of judicial officers or officials in various courts. He directed the judicial officers to dispose of pending cases and said that the process of criminal trials should be completed within two years.
