Legislators regret that none on the board of directors of power utilities hails from Telangana

HYDERABAD:
Seven MLAs of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and a few hundred party supporters staged an hour-long dharna in front the AP Transco/Genco office here on Tuesday demanding filling of posts in the utility serving the region only by locals.
Disrupting traffic on the busy Khairatabad-Punjagutta road, legislators -- N. Narasimha Reddy, Padma Devender Reddy, T. Padma Rao, T. Harish Rao, S. Ramalinga Reddy, C. Lakshma Reddy and K. Nagesh -- shouted slogans before they were allowed inside Vidyuth Soudha where the two offices are located.
As APTransco CMD Rachel Chatterjee was away, the MLAs met Joint Managing Directors -- Harish Kumar (commercial) and M. Malakondaiah (vigilance). They handed over a memorandum listing the demands.
