Workshop on eco-friendly shelter

CHENNAI : Rotary International, in association with IT Parks and Infrastructural Developers Association, is organising a workshop, `Enabling Eco Friendly Shelter,' at Alumni Club, Anna University, Boat Club Road, from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on March 4.

Free eye screening camp in Tambaram

Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram, conducted a free eye screening camp in West Tambaram where 115 patients were screened.

Singhvi Charitable Trust organised a free eye and dental camp at SBOA Matric Higher Secondary School, Annanagar West for van and autorickshaw drivers, and their families. A total of 472 patients were screened.

Blood donation camp

A blood donation camp was conducted by the Blood Bank of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu branch at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering.

Seminar for students

Sevalaya, a charitable trust functioning at Kasuva, is organising a free seminar for college students `Commitment to Excellence' from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on March 2. For details, call 26344243.

Training

ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamil Nadu Centre, has organised training in `the Latest Trend in Best 5S Practices Implementation' on March 9 at their centre.

Doll exhibition

The Consulate General of Japan, Chennai, and ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamil Nadu Centre, will conduct a `Japanese dolls' exhibition from March 1 to 3 at Nagaaki Yamamoto seminar hall, 3rd floor, chateau D'Ampa, 37, (110), Nelson Manickam Road, Aminjikarai. Sakura Ozaki, Vice-Consul, will inaugurate the exhibition.

Diabetes camp

The International Associations of Lions Clubs will hold a diabetes awareness and detection camp from March 1 to 8 as part of the International Women's Day.

The Lions Club of Central Madras, along with Lion KRS Insulin Bank, Diabetes Association of India, southern chapter and Exnora will organise the weeklong camp for HOLD (Hypertension, Obesity, Lipids, Diabetes) exclusively for women aged 30 and above at Aruna Diabetes Centre in Choolaimedu.

The registration opens on Saturday from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Stock sub-broker held

CHENNAI : Police arrested a sub-broker dealing in stocks on charges of cheating his clients to the tune of Rs. 34 lakh.

N. Saminathan and his wife Valliammai of Landons Road, Kilpauk, registered the complaint.
