Free training

CHENNAI: The Directorate of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare has chosen Manara Learning to impart free call centre training to candidates belonging to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes (MBC) and Denotified Communities (DNC). The cost will be borne by the State Government. Aspirants aged below 28 years and holding any degree can walk in for a personal interview at 31/14, Burkit Road, T. New branch

Andhra Bank recently opened its 79th branch in Manavala Nagar, Tiruvalluvar District, to cater to rural credit needs of people in the area. The branch has a 24-hour ATM facility.

Workshop

Career Plan is organising an interactive two-hour workshop on "How to Crack the TANCET (MCA) Entrance Examination". The workshop will offer insights into essential learning strategies.

Aero-modelling course

The hobby club will conduct a course in aero-modelling from March 3. The course will cover flight principles of aeroplanes, helicopters and hovercrafts.

Theoretical and practical training for building aeroplane glider models will be provided. The course is open for those aged above 10 years. Call: 92831 98818.

Blood donation

Members of the NSS wing and Red Ribbon Club of A.M. Jain College conducted a blood donation camp in association with Maameru Trust and Arignar Anna Government Cancer Hospital, Kancheepuram, on Wednesday. Student volunteers donated blood to help cancer patients in the hospital.

Seminar

The National Bilogical Association for Students (NBAS) organised a regional seminar `Biozephyr' for biology students.

Dr. Sunithi Solomon, director, YRG Care, chaired the inaugural session. She released the first issue of the NBAS newsletter.

`Prince of India'

The Chennai based Rs 150-crore Precision Group was recently awarded `Prince of India' award by Hewlett Packard.

It was presented to the company at the National Business Partners enclave in Istanbul, Turkey.

NSS camp

The Jayagovind Harigopal Agarwal Agarsen College National Service Scheme (NSS) undertook cleaning of various public places at Aalathur and Edapaayam. The places included temples, schools and roads.
