Venkatappa is dead

BANGALORE: M.P. Venkatappa, former professor of Physical Chemistry, Bangalore University, died here on Wednesday.

Dr. Venkatappa was 79.

He is survived his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Dr. Venkatappa, who had obtained his doctorate from the University of Illinois in the United States of America, specialised in Crystallography.

Dr. Venkatappa had served for some time as professor at the Karnatak University in Dharwad.

Senate member

Dr. Venkatappa had served as a member of the Senate of the Bangalore University.

One of his sons, V. Shrinivas, is an associate professor at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.
