The changing face of Aluva

Aluva and most places surrounding it are witnessing a sudden spurt of activities because of the fact that all these places lie in close proximity to Kochi.

It seems Aluva is truly shrugging off its cool, long-standing rustic status. With the fortunes of the state having undergone a total transformation, no doubt, Kochi is reaping rich dividends. And with the in-flow of corporate clientele bulging by the day, the demand for housing is on the rise in Kochi. As such, the city and several of its suburbs are getting abuzz with all kind of activities in the field of civil construction. Of many of Kochi's suburbs, Aluva is being considered as one of the most happening place in the realty scene today and hectic construction activities are underway in almost every part of this river side town. For many, who are deciding to occupy a dwelling space in and around Kochi, is fast turning out to be an unmistakable choice.

Even a couple of years back Aluva was a non-descript place and was largely known for its Sivarathri festival. The most important aspect that has enhanced the face value of Aluva is its easy accessibility. It is the presence of an international airport and a national highway that has intensified the worth of Aluva. Abundant availability of quality ground water throughout the year is yet another trump card of this homely town. Realising Aluva's immense potential for growth, several leading builders have announced their upcoming projects centering Aluva.

Suresh Rajan of Raj Builders, which is perhaps the only builder having projects exclusively in and around Aluva, is of the opinion that the entire region of Aluva ensures serene living comforts and this is one specific reason why more and more families are opting to settle down in this part of the world. Coming up right in front of the Aluva Manalppuram, RB Green Leaves is the latest project from the house of Raj Builders and to make most of the location they have designed only four apartments in each floor and every apartment has an exclusive waterfront view. "Customers are too choosy these days and in a place like Aluva it is the location that decides the success of a project. This is because all those who are eyeing Aluva prefers to have the scenic presence of River Periyar from their abode", remarks he.

It was the international airport at Nedumbassery that has changed the fortunes of Aluva in a big way. The Cochin International Airport (CIAL) having become one of the busiest airports in the country in terms of both traffic and turn over, the entire region of Nedumbassery and its neighbourhood areas are on a fast developmental track today. And in the process, Aluva is also fast changing, a change that is quite extensive and all encompassing. The numerous housing projects that are in the offing in and around Aluva are getting fast sold out even when the projects are getting announced. With more sweeping changes on the cards, the future of Aluva is looking too bright.

Skyre Homes is yet another realtor who has ventured into the shores of Aluva very recently. Mubeen of Skyre feels that since the dwelling needs of Kochi are fast growing, places like Aluva can offer great living options to many. After successful completion of a number of projects in places like Vypeen Islands and Edappally, Skyre Homes has launched Golden Shower Apartments at Thottumukhom near Aluva. Golden Shower offers fifteen 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and two duplex penthouses with all sensible amenities. "Aluva offers great living culture and a healthy environment which is why it has become one of the most sought after places to reside", observes Mubeen.

Of late, Aluva and most places surrounding it are witnessing a sudden spurt of activities because of the fact that all these places lie in close proximity to Kochi. Given the road conditions are reasonably good and free from traffic snarls, one can easily access these places in a matter of a little over thirty minutes. And more importantly, today, Aluva affords all kind of conveniences and comforts that are on par with that of Kochi. From hospitals to educational institutions to swanky showrooms, Aluva has everything to suit a metro lifestyle.

"There is a growing tendency among the customers to move away from the rush of the city to places which offer both scenic locales and easy connectivity. Aluva, the satellite town of Kochi with its natural greenery and easy accessibility offers these facilities", says Roy Joseph, managing director of Trinity Builders & Developers. Apart from its villa project called The Garden, Trinity has chosen Aluva for two of its apartment projects namely Periyar Sands and Aquamarine. The Garden has forty-one villas in eight acres and is situated close to the International Airport. Two acres of land in The Garden have been set apart for common amenities like club house, health club, swimming pool, indoor games, jogging track etc. Periyar Sands has four apartments in each floor with an excellent view of the river. Trinity Aquamarine is also a waterfront apartment project facing the river Periyar close to the Mangalapuzha Bridge. Finding a very potential market, several renowned builders have started brisk operations here and as such there are plenty of projects to choose from in Aluva. The builders are working overtime to meet the ever spiraling demand for quality housing in Kochi and in the process the skyline of Kochi is fast expanding towards its peripheral regions like Aluva. To cater to the huge housing needs, affluent apartments and luxury villas in huge numbers are already under way in Aluva today. With numerous such upcoming multi-storied apartment projects and still many more projects already on the cards, Aluva is all poised for a major growth in the housing sector.
