Legal Correspondent
New Delhi: As part of the Indo-British legal cooperation, a high-level 21-member delegation comprising eminent lawyers and jurists of the All-India Bar Association (AIBA) and Indian Council of Jurists is visiting Scotland and London from March 2 to 11. Led by Adish C. Aggarwala, Chairman, All-India Bar Association, the delegation includes M. N. Krishnamani, president, Supreme Court Bar Association; S. Prabhakaran vice-chairman, AIBA; Anmol Rattan Sidhu, vice-chairman, AIBA; C. L. Pandey, president, Allahabad High Court Bar Association and Satish Aggarwal, general secretary, Indian Council of Jurists.
To meet key persons
The visit to London is at the invitation of the Law Society of England and Wales to meet key personalities in the London legal market and observe the workings of the legal system in the U.K.; to understand the functioning of an open legal market; to observe the regulation of solicitors and foreign lawyers and to understand the English legal education system. Barristers from London will accompany the delegation in their visit to different courts, including the House of Lords and prestigious Law colleges.
Interaction
It will have interaction with eminent members of the Bar, President of the law Society of England and Wales, judges, law firms and Queen's Council on various issues of mutual interest between India and the United Kingdom. It will also have interaction with the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, United Kingdom.
