Bomb scare: A.P. student charged in U.S.

Civil engineering student from Nizamabad accused of several crimes

ROLLA MISSOURI (U.S.): A graduate student from Andhra Pradesh has been charged with several crimes after a bomb and anthrax threat at University of Missouri, Rolla, which shut down the campus for a day, reports AP.

Sujithkumar Venkatramolla (22), a civil engineering student from Nizamabad, was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action, resisting arrest, filing a false report of a bomb threat and making terrorist threats on Wednesday. The threat initially raised concerns about possible terrorist attacks. Instead, the authorities said, the suspect was simply a student despondent over his grades.

"He has been very worried about his grades" said his roommate.
