160 acres of assigned lands in Proddatur

KADAPA: One hundred and sixty acres of assigned lands were under the possession of 143 persons in Proddatur mandal, Proddatur MRO S.A. Khader Basha said on Thursday. The assigned lands were in Thallamapuram, Kamanur, Kallur and other villages in the mandal and notices were served on the 143 persons possessing DKT lands, he told newsmen at Proddatur.

He warned of penal action if the assigned lands were not voluntarily surrendered. Steps would be taken to curb encroachment of the Government or assigned lands in future. A board was put up in the assigned lands at Gollavaram indicating its take over by the Government, the MRO said.
