NELLORE: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted a raid on the house of Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation (APSFC) deputy Manager K. Siva Rao and seized property, documents and gold ornaments, disproportionate to his income here on Thursday.

A team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) V. S. R. Chowdhary detected disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs. 50 lakh in the raid.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials lodged a case against the SFC official under the Anti-Corruption Act on the basis of their search.

Simultaneous raids were conducted on the deputy manager's house in Nellore and that of his brother's house at Tirupati. Mr. Siva Rao's brother K. Narayana is an Income-tax officer at Tirupati.

While his brother had two kgs of gold and three and a half kgs silver and Rs 1.25 lakh cash in his possession besides owning two houses."

Sources said, the ACB officials had done a survey of the assets on the basis of a complaint and took permission from the Director-General of ACB before initiating the search operation and then got a warrant against the accused to nab him with adequate evidence. ACB Inspectors V. Alla Baksh, P. Veeranjaneya Reddy, K. Ravi Kumar and other sleuths were involved in the operation.
