FOSS workshop begins today

KOZHIKODE: The National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C), will host the third edition of a three-day technical workshop on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) titled `FOSS Meet @NITC' from March 2 to 4.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, K.P. Mohandas, mentor, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch, NIT-C, said the event would bring together some of the finest proponents of FOSS in the country.

The meet is extended to three days in its third edition by widening the scope and reach of the meet by including topics from diverse areas. The event is jointly organised by IEEE Student Branch, NIT-C, Computer Society of India (CSI), Calicut Chapter, GNU\Linux User Group Calicut (GLUGC) and Computer Science and Engineering Association, NIT-C and National Resource Centre FOSS, Chennai (NRC-FOSS).
