Loyola College triumphs

TIRUCHI: Loyola College, with 13 points, at the end of the league stage won the Khajamian Trophy at the sixth south India-level inter-collegiate hockey tournament here on Thursday.

Host Jamal Mohammed College finished second, while St. Joseph's College secured the third place. Loyola defeated Jamal 2-1. Vinoth Kumar and Vijayakumar netted in succession to give Loyola the lead. Ahmed Hussain scored to reduce the margin.

Other league results: St. Joseph's College 2 (Prem Prakash, Arasilangovan) bt SIT 0; Guru Nanak College 1 (Bhuvanesh) drew with H.H. Rajah's College 1 (Saravanaraj); SIT 3 (Ramesh, Aakash, Mohan Kumar) drew with Guru Nanak 3 (Saravanan, Rajasekaran, Kalaikumaran); Loyola 0 drew with St. Joseph's 0; Jamal Mohammed 2 (Manivannan, Prabhu) bt H.H.
