BIJAPUR: Frustrated by rejection in love a youth allegedly hacked to death a teenaged student of nursing at the Al-Ameen Medical College campus here on Thursday. The police identified the victim as Parveenbabi Bashasab Daded of Honnutagi village, a first year student of Al-Ameen Nursing School. Police arrested the accused Mutthappa Hadapad, a hairdresser at a saloon here at Hadagiahal. He allegedly murdered her on the way to the classroom, even as fellow students remained spectators. She collapsed and died on the spot. He had reportedly been making advances that the girl repeatedly rejected.
Students shocked
The incident shocked the students and staff. The college declared a holiday mourning her death. The atmosphere in the college was tense.
