GULBARGA: The response to free coaching offered by the North Eastern Teachers' Forum for prospective candidates appearing for the Common Entrance Test for the recruitment of primary school teachers in the Gulbarga division on March 11 has been overwhelming. Working president of the forum M.B. Ambalagi told The Hindu here on Thursday that the response to the classes was very good and more number of women had enrolled themselves this time. Most of the participants were from rural areas and some were from Bijapur, Bagalkot, Raichur and Bidar districts. He said free coaching in general knowledge, science, mathematics, social studies, English and Kannada were being held for four hours everyday in the evening. The teachers have offered their service free of cost, he added. He said that even those who have not participated in the classes were eligible to participate in the model examinations conducted by the forum. The forum collected a sum of Rs. 200 from the participants for the model examinations to cover the printing charges of the question paper and for answer sheets.
