Seven held on gambling charge

VIZIANAGARAM: Seven persons, including four businessmen from Visakhapatnam, were arrested for gambling at Rawada village in Bhogapuram mandal late on Wednesday night and seized Rs. 2,09,710, two Indica cars, seven mobile phones, four wine bottles and a few candles, said K.K. Achari, DSP, at a press conference here on Thursday.

The arrested were: A. Siva Kumar (Old Dairy Farm), K. Venkata Siva Prasad (Police Quarters Road), J. Srinivas (Thatichetlapalem), G.Venkata Rama Rao, G. Srinivas and P. Narasimhulu (all from Kancherapalem) and I. Appala Raju (Mudasarlova).

Bhogapuram Circle-Inspector Ch. Papa Rao conducted the raid while they were playing cards in candle light at the village, the DSP said.
